Taking steps to protect the natural environment is something that is increasingly important to many people and businesses. After all, we only have one planet. It just makes sense for every person and business to take part in protecting our shared environment.
At Piper Plastics, we recognize that protecting the environment is both good for the planet and good for business.
It is one thing for a business to claim that they care about the environment, but it’s another thing for that business to actually take proactive steps that demonstrate the claim. At Piper Plastics, we say it and we do it. In fact, we have been taking extra steps to recycle materials and protect the environment since the early 1980s. Environmentally responsible practices are part of our company’s DNA.
Proper Storage
One way that we work to protect the environment is by taking extra steps to be sure that an accidental spill or leak doesn’t escape into the ground or water.
- We store our raw materials using secondary containment systems. This means that if there was an accidental spill or leak, the material that spilled would be captured by the secondary containment system before it could leak into the water or ground.
Recycling
Another way that we work to protect the planet is by recycling rejected parts and waste materials.
- Instead of sending plastic material to a landfill or incinerator, we sell it to scrap vendors so that it can be recycled and reused in other products. This keeps waste out of landfills, and also reduces the raw materials that are needed to make those other products.
Our waste materials are typically highly plasticized, so they are ideal and valuable to soften other, more rigid materials that are also being recycled and turned into useful products. Waste material from Piper Plastics is used in replacement windows and trim, as well as in consumer products like covers for notebooks and binders.
Piper Plastics cares about the environment, and we demonstrate that each and every day through the steps that we take to minimize our impact on the planet. Contact us to learn more about our company and how we can help your business with custom dip molding and plastic coating!
